Stay hydrated by drinking water bursting with flavor
Recipes to help you hydrate

In my previous blog post I covered the importance of hydration and I thought it would be a great supplement to provide some recipes for Beauty and Detox waters that will help encourage you to drink more water ...you're more likely to drink it if it tastes good!

When I started using Young Living Essential Oils I discovered their Vitality line of essential oils, which are properly labeled so you know which oils are suitable for ingestion. (PICTURE OF VITALITY OILS) These are the same pure, therapeutic-grade oils (which is even more important if you're putting them into your body). You can use these oils in your water, when cooking, or by adding them to a capsule. The Vitality oils are grouped into 4 categories: Herb, Spice, Citrus, Supplements. These are like a wellness powerhouse of flavor and benefits.

Peppermint, Orange, Basil, Lemon, Grapefruit, Lavender

When it comes to adding pizazz to your water, you can include a combination of vitality oils, fresh fruit and herbs to give you the maximum beauty and detox benefits. Remember, oil and water don't mix, so add something (fruit, puree, leaves, etc) to help disperse the water or stir before drinking.

One important thing note: when you are adding Citrus essential oils to your water, be sure you're using a glass or metal container and straw.

Basil leaves are good for digestion and are anti-inflammatory, promote a healthy gut and support liver function and help to detoxify the body.

Start Your Morning Right Water

  • a cup of warm/hot water

  • 1-2 drops any Citrus Vitality oil

I don't incorporate sweeteners to keep it clean.

This morning treat comes straight from Ayurveda. Drinking warm/hot water in the morning offers so many benefits that it is a great way to start your day! Warm water helps to hydrate the body much better than cold water and it helps with digestion and constipation. It can also help improve circulation and remove toxins. AND warm water can calm the central nervous system and reduce stress. When you add 1-2 drops of essential oils to your warm/hot water, you've just made a hydrating drink to start your morning right. For an additional boost in hydration, sip on warm water throughout the day because, once again, warm water hydrates the body better than cold water.
